HEART CUSHION
To create a postive impact from a loss
I made the first heart meditation cushion for myself after the death of my beloved sister. It was a way to help with my own healing and sudden loss. I found alot of interest from my students when I took the cushion with me to yoga classes. I began to sew cushions, but I wanted to do it with a purpose.....
The cushion is designed with both our initials joined together to make the shape of the heart. The shape also represents the massive heart attack that took my sister's life. Each cushion: I lovingly make out of Indian saris that I fill the inner cushion with buckwheat hulls. As for the covers, they can be interchanged depending on your mood. As you see with the above picture, the sky is the limit for colour. You want to have something that is unique and that is set with an intention. It can be as individual as you are.
With each cushion that is sold, a percentage goes towards the purchase and maintenance of future heart defibrillators. So far I am just under 10 units that have been purchased through cushion sales and fundraising. This is something that I am passionate about at CElove and have taken this on with determination.
My mission, my dharma is to spread unconditional love through the cushions. I cannot bring my sister back, but I can have a sense of peace when I see a client who is ecstatic about their cushion. I truly believe that things happen for a reason; whether good or bad.
How blessed am I to have received the love of my sister and the unselfish love of a higher power?
This is a labour of love for me and I feel priviledged to share this with you.
